Group V Comets And Asteroids

Asteroids and comets are both objects that fly through space. Asteroids are made up of metal and rock. Whilst comets are made up of ice, dust and rock. Both are considered to be remnants of when the sun was getting created. Most asteroids are in the asteroid belt, in between Mars and Jupiter. Comets come from the Kuiper belt. Comets are known for their trail. It is just the ice running off, into space and spreading out, leaving a trail.

Meteors are mistaken for Asteroids quite a lot of the time. The difference is that meteors explode on impact and when they fall through the atmosphere rocks fall off, forming meteorites. Asteroids leave a bigger crater and don't break away in the atmosphere. The dinosaurs were actually wiped out by an asteroid.
